Government High School Sundla, Udhampur Once Again Wins Cultural Club Award From CCRT, New Delhi.

Govt. High School Sundla Zone BABEY District Udhampur once again got Cultural Club award from CCRT,New Delhi.

Udhampur:- It’s really a matter of pride for jammu Division in general and Udhampur district in particular that Government High School Sundla has been selected for the award of cultural club under the cultural club scheme of Centre for cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) New Delhi.


The Cultural club award under the scheme, will be initially for one year at a time and will be renewable after every year on the basis of performance of the club, maximum four years.

Government High School Sundla got this award first time for the Academic year 2019-20.


The Grant amount of Rs 7500/- for the above said scheme for the academic year 2019-20 has been transferred into the account of Govt. High School Sundla through E.C.S./NEFT/RTGS.by CCRT NEW DELHI.


The same amount has been utilised for the cultural activities after observing all the codal formalities. And on the basis of performance of the club, CENTER FOR CULTURAL RESOURCES AND TRAINING (CCRT) New Delhi once again renewed cultural club for GHS SUNDLA.

The Grant of Amount Rs 7500/-has been transferred into the account of GHS SUNDLA for the above said scheme for the academic year 2021-22.


It is worth mentioning that Mr. HUSHIAR SINGH TEACHER GHS SUNDLA attended 10 days Workshop on “Cultural Diversity “at CCRT NEW DELHI in the 2019.

On the basis of his outstanding performance also in this workshop GHS SUNDLA was selected for the award of cultural club by CCRT NEW DELHI.

Due to the tireless efforts of Mr. Hushiar Singh teacher incharge cultural club, the club is running smoothly.The cultural club organises following activities:-

  1. Awareness campaigns on themes related to saving /preserving/protecting our culture.
  2. Organise “HERITAGE WALKS/HERITAGE CAMPS/HEALTH CAMPS.

3.Visits to local museums/craft melas/art centers.
4.Observing culturally important days like local festivals/fairs/melas/ethnic Days etc.
5.Visits to old homes/orphanages to bring awareness on indian culture.
6.Yearly calendar to celebrate days like Earth Day/Green Day/plantation Day etc.
7.Celebrates specific state Days /week by putting up exhibition etc.
8 Collections of Folk tales (stories) folk songs are performed.
9 collection of Idioms & Phrases reflecting culture
10 Cultural Festivals are organised

11Inter School competitions/Quiz/Debate on themes related to culture e.g.

12 Rangoli competition
13 Folk Dance /Folk Songs Competition/Festivals etc.

14 Quiz on
— Monuments, sites in India
—— Rivers of India
——–Caves in India
——–Indian Dances/Folk Dances.
15.Photography competition on monuments/Heritage.
16 Adopt one or more “Heritage sites” in the school vicinity or in nearby locality, look into the historical importance and organise talks/events to sensitise local people about it’s significance and help to preserve it.
