November 11, 2022 Kathua. “Kala Utsav 2022–23 organized at district level in Kathua.”
Kala Utsav 2022-23 has started with full enthusiasm and a district level competition among the winners declared at the regional level was organized at Nav Adarsh Vidyalaya, Kathua. After the formal announcement of the start of Kala Utsav by Directorate of SMAGARA Shiksha Department, Jammu and Kashmir and Directorate of School Education, Jammu, the competition has reached at district level after inter-school and regional level rounds of the competition. In Kathua the event is being organized under the able guidance of Mr. P.L. Thapa, Chief Education Officer Kathua, who is also the Chief Guest for this district level program. The Office inaugurated the event along with Mr. Kewal Krishan, District Education Planning Officer Kathua, Mr. Hrithik Prakash Singh, Principal of Nava Adarsh Vidyalaya (Kathua), Mr. Gandharv Singh, Chairman of Nava Adarsh Vidyalaya. In his speech, the honorable chief guest gave best wishes to the students and encouraged the escort teachers who came with him to do better to nurture the hidden talents in them. Mr. Pawan Vivek (DRG, Kathua) and Mrs. Monica Khosla (DICC, Kathua) prepared and coordinated the entire program and the Kala Utsav started with the entire team of Cultural and Educational Unit (Kathua). This program is being organized for 2 days i.e. 11th and 12th November, 2022 and the students participated with full enthusiasm on the very first day in which they performed traditional singing style, painting (two dimensional and three dimensional), Indian traditional sports Toys, art skills, use of musical instruments etc. were also successfully demonstrated. For the competition of singing and musical instruments.
The role of jury for the category of music was helmed by experts in the field such as Mr. Satish Kumar, Mr. Mohinder and Mr. Yogesh Kandle. Mrs. Kanwal Nain Kaur, Mr. Swatantra Bhagat and Mr. Punita Saini played the role of jury for three and two dimensional art work and painting competitions and for the competition of Indigenous Sports Toys. All ZICCs, Cultural Ambassadors also contributed towards the successful operation of the program. Mr. Deepak Sharma took over as the technical expert. Mr. Ravinder Singh (Senior Lecturer, Education) conducted the program with full dedication. In the program, arrangements for food have also been made for the students and the teachers accompanying them on both the days.
Kala Utsav is organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy and Ministry of Education (Government of India) under SAMAGARA Shiksha among the students of 9th to 12th class so that the artist in them can be further strengthened. This festival is organized separately for boys and girls in 10 categories., today at the district level, passing through the regional level.
