In order to spread message of peace, non-violence and brother hood and spread the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi (Bapu Ji) among the students and common masses of the Jammu division and to celebrate 153rd birthday of Bapuji on coming 2nd October 2022 with great pomp and show. The Directorate of School Education jammu started a “Shanti Yatra 2022”. It was flagged off by The Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma JKAS on 7th of September 2022 from Teacher Bhawan Jammu along with a symbol of yatra “Shanti Chinha”.
Covering Jammu,Poonch, Rajouri and Reasi Distt. “Shanti Chinha”reached Udhampur Distt. On 17th of September 2022, received by Sh. R.S. Slathia Principal Govt. HSS Tikri and Zonal Education Officer Tikri Smt. Geeta Biri along with staff of MS Sundrani at Sundrani.
On 18th of September 2022, Shanti Yatra 2022 started from MS Sundrani Zone Tikri covering MS Lehnu “Shanti Chinha” reached Govt. HSS Tikri where students of the school performed cultural items giving the message of teachings of Bapu ji. Thereafter students and staff members of PS Lehri, MS Mand, MS East Mand, MS Falata reached Govt. HSS Garhi, where ZEO Tikri and Principal HSS Tikri handed over the “Shanti Chinha” to the Principal, HSS Garhi and Zonal Education Officer Udhampur and Yatra started with the staff members and students of Govt. GHS Garhi, and covered MS Chopra Shop, MS Kotli Pain, MS Sansoo, MS Ward No. 10 reached Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Girls Model HSS Udhampur where Sh. Pawan Kumar Slathia Principal welcomed the “Shanti Chinha” and a great cultural show was presented by the students of the school later on “Shanti Chinha” was kept in custody of the Chief Education Officer Udhampur.
On 19th of September 2022, Shanti Yatra 2022 started from the Office of the Chief Education Officer Udhampur. Sh. Arvin Kumar Koul (Chief Education Officer Udhampur) led from the front to Yatra in which Zonal Education Officer Udhampur Sh. Bharat Bhushan, staff and students of MS Dandyal and MS Gopa Mandir participated. Covering Govt. City HS Udhampur “Shanti Chinha” reached Shaheed Inspector Kamal Singh Govt. Model HSS Boys Udhampur where I/c Principal welcomed the “Shanti Chinha” and Principal staff and students of Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Girls Model HSS Udhampur joined the yatra and reached out side of Office of the District Development Commissioner Udhampur where Mr. Mohd. Anwar-Ul-Haq JKAS Additional Superintendent of Police Udhampur welcomed the “Shanti Chinha” and handed over to the Zonal Education Officer Jib Sh. Sham Lal accompanied by H/M MS Barrian.
Later on in the Shanti Yatra 2022, staff and students of MS Jakhani, GMS Jakhani, MS Sharda, MS Thard, MS Yug participated where ZEO Jib handed over the “Shanti Chinha” to The Zonal Education Officer Chenani Smt. Sushma Gupta and covered MS Toldi, MS Bant, HS Samroli and reached HSS Sewna where Principal Smt Urvashi Parihar welcomed the “Shanti Chinha” and led the Yatra with ZEO upto PS Chakal Mandal. Schools which participated in the further Yatra are MS Darmanthal, MS Seri Ghantwal and MS Gujad and ZEO Chenani handed over the “Shanti Chinha” to Sh. Raj Kumar ZICC Batote and Sh. Gurmeet Singh PET HSS Batote official representative of ZEO Batote, Distt. Ramban for further journey of Shanti Yatra 2022.
