One day training workshop about working on online portals organized at Zonal Education Office Billawar.

Billawar: A one-day training workshop was organized at Zonal Education Office, Billawar for Junior Assistants, Teachers, Masters and HOIs of Zone Billawar regarding operating online portals such as Employment Performance Monitoring (EPM) portal, Aadharshila portal, GeM portal, CPIS management portal, submission and formatting of miscellaneous online records, budget and utilization filing and management of records at schools.

The workshop was chaired by Mr. Chaman Lal, Deputy Chief Education Officer, District Kathua and was attended by ZEO, ZEPO, ZICC Billawar, zonal budget members and HOIs of different schools & pay centers of the zone.

Mr. Satender Singh Pathania, incharge of budget planning, District Kathua who is also a technical expert was invited to impart the training. Mr. Pathania carved up a detailed session on the mentioned topics and patiently cleared the doubts of the participants. Several participants also provided their inputs and highlighted various challenges in following the online procedures.

Mr. Pathania answered all the queries of the participants & shared best practices in following the processes.

Mrs. Kanchan Bala, Zonal Education Officer, Billawar also spoke on the occasion and stressed on learning the use of  online resources effectively and the importance of different portals. She also discussed other important issues such as enrollment drives, importance of cultural and sports activities in school and following all the instructions issued by higher authorities for the safety of students and maintaining required COVID SOPs in the recently opened schools.

Mr. Sutinder Gupta, Cultural Cell Incharge for zone Billawar provided his inputs on importance of co-curricular activities in schools.

He also pointed that as per New Education Policy, NEP2020, these activities are going to be significant part of the school curriculum and educationists should adapt  accordingly so that the students are trained and educated aptly, thereby achieving the objectives of the new policy.

Mr. Chaman Lal, Deputy CEO also addressed the participants and put his views regarding enrollment, procedures and protocols required in reopening of schools. He mentioned that it was now up to the Education sector employees to run the show successfully and keep the schools open by taking utmost care of the students and ensuring their safety specially students of middle and primary standards who will be joining the school in forthcoming week.

He also emphasized that since the examinations are approaching, students need to be helped in such a way that they are able to achieve good results & make this otherwise difficult session as one of the  most successful ones. He said that teachers may have to work extra and operate outside their comfort zone.

The workshop ended with vote of thanks being presented by the ZEO Billawar.
