DIET Banihal Organizes A Three Day Workshop Cum Training Programme On Curriculum And Pedagogical Practices For Pre Primary And Primary Teachers.

Banihal: PSTE Wing DIET Banihal organized three days blended type Capacity Building Workshop cum training Programme on Curriculum and Pedagogical Practices for pre primary/ primary teachers at GHSS Banihal, on the directions of Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu.

The training Programme was inaugurated by Mr. S A Tantary, Principal GHSS Banihal. He stressed upon the teachers to raise the quality of education and to promote work culture in govt schools.

Quoting Principal Secretary Mr. B.K Singh that “This year is the year of transformation”, Mr. Tantary said that the teachers must show committment and dedication in order to achieve the goal of excellence. He asked the participants to work hard and share the responsibility of changing the whole educational scenerio.

The main objective of this CBP was to acquaint the participants with the knowledge and understanding of the pedagogical practices that should be used while dealing with pre schoolers.

DIET Banihal has organized a series of training programmes to update and equip teachers with the knowledge and understanding of the different components of NEP 2020.

In this CBP the  resource persons/ experts focussed on how to ensure optimal growth and development of children at early stage of pre school education. Pre test analysis was done by administering a questionnaire to the subject so as to have an insight about the level of the understanding of the participants about the basic concepts of ECCE.

Activity based sessions were organized to equip the participants with the appropriate pedagogical practices of ECCE.

Dr.Arshid Salroo,Tariq Ahmed Dakka, Aajaz Ahmed and M A Katoch delivered PPTs on the topics like SDGs, Theme Based Learning, Appropriate Techniques of Language Learning and Basic Concepts of ECC respectively.

Principal DIET Banihal Mr.Dev Anand while addressing the participants focussed on effective implementation of NEP 2020. He stressed on developing work culture in the institutions and creating congenial atmosphere in govt schools to attract the learners. He said that it was time to work together so that general perception of the society may be changed .He emphasised on the importance of foundational stage of ECCE and the role and responsibility of the teachers  who were involved with pre primary education.

He asked the participanrs to understand the principles of NEP and know the vision and mission of NEP 2020.

Principal DIET Banihal appreciated the approach and efforts of resource persons for training the participants in such an effective manner.

The CBP was coordinated by M A Katoch, senior faculty member of DIET.

Towards the end, Bahar Ahmed Mir, Zonal president of RET association, appreciating M A Katoch for coordinating such an effective and purposeful training programme said that the training programme should be extended to every primaryteacher. He said that organizing such training programmes will equip the participants with appropriate and good pedagogical practices which a primary  teacher must adopt while teaching at kindergarten level.

He said that the CBP  was first of its kind where they enjoyed every session because all the sessions were activity based, informative and practical.
