FELICITATION FUNCTION OF WINNERS OF NATIONAL KALA UTSAV FESTIVAL 2021 HELD AT KATHUA
Kathua: A felicitation function for the winners of the National Kala Utsav Festival 2021 was held at the premises of Government High School, Parliwand Kathua.
Mr. P.L. Thapa, Chief Education Officer, Kathua graced the occasion as the Chief Guest
. The function was organized for acknowledging the winners from the district who had represented the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at the national level in the Kala Utsav Festival, 2022, and won top prizes. The occasion was also celebrated to appreciate the supporting mentors, members of the DRC, ZICCs from the different zones, and others who contributed towards bringing home the laurels for the entire Union Territory and district Kathua.
The event started with the welcome of the Chief Education Officer. Mr. Pawan Vivek, Incharge of District Resource Group, and Mrs. Monika Khosla, Incharge of District Cultural Cell presented a bouquet to the Chief Guest after which the Officer lighted a lamp to mark the commencement of the event.
Mrs. Monika Khosla welcomed the guests and gave a short speech about the event and winner. She congratulated the winners and thanked the mentors and members of the District Cultural Cell without whom such performance was not possible. The program started with the Saraswati Vandana after which cultural items were presented by students.
It was followed by the prize distribution in which the winners and their mentors were presented certificates by the respected Chief Education Officer.
The Chief Guest also spoke briefly on the occasion. Mr. Thapa began his speech by offering his condolences to Mrs. Dimple Sharma, a teacher of GHS Baghthali who left for her heavenly abode on 25th of February. A two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the deceased.
The CEO carried forward his speech by saying that though it was sad to lose a member of the community, the show must go on. He congratulated the winners and thanked their mentors and other contributing members who had been instrumental in winning the prizes and making the district proud. Mr. Thapa said that he wanted to share with the attendees that the performance of the district was being noticed and appreciated at the higher levels.
He said that he was very proud of all the educationists of the zone whom he considered as a single family and hoped that they would continue to enhance their performance at every level.
He said everyone must work on a child-centric approach and work for their betterment in every sphere whether it was academic or co-curricular side.
A Basholi art painting made by Shobha was gifted to the CEO as a token of love and gratitude by the talented young painter herself. The Officer thanked her for the memento and also extended his thanks to Mrs. Suman Bala, incharge of GHS Parliwand for providing the venue and making the suitable arrangements at a short notice.
The event was anchored by Mrs. Sunita Kumari, ZICC Hiranagar, and Mrs. Anita Pangotra while co-hosting the event presented a few couplets and Mr. Pawan Vivek concluded the celebration with a vote of thanks.
