DSEJ’s 5 Days Long Virtual Workshop On Early Childhood Care & Education Concludes

Jammu: Directorate Of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) in collaboration with Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF) completed a 5-day Virtual Workshop on Early Childhood Care & Education ( ECCE) here on late Saturday evening.
The workshop was organised from 22nd to 26th Feb 2022 on the directions of Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu, under the ECCE Project.

The aim of the workshop was to capacitate 114 teachers on distinct concepts helpful for providing effective Pre-primary education to KG Children. Workshop was attended virtually by 93 Pre-primary teachers of 10 districts of Jammu division through various Social media platforms.

The key themes covered during the workshop were Pre-Numeracy & Numeracy Concept, Five Counting Principles, Worksheets, Assessment in ECCE etc. to equip teachers with the conceptual knowledge to engage more efficiently with pre-primary children.

KEF also took an opportunity to introduce Social Emotional Ethical Learning with the view to impart 21st century skills from the early stage of education.

Sessions on Social Emotional Learning and Emotional Intelligence were covered on Days 4 & 5 to ensure social and emotional awareness among teachers and children so as to help them to become more self-aware, manage their emotions and have empathy and compassion to lead a better life.

Resource persons of KEF facilitated all these sessions.

Ms. Jaswinder Kour, Divisional Coordinator ECCE and Dr. Sarita Sharma from SRML School were also part of the workshop and provided their valuable inputs on different sessions to ensure implementation of the concepts by teachers.

Mr. Manmohan Singh & Mr. Pawan Vivek, DRGs from Poonch and Kathua, respectively, were also present in the workshop.

This workshop was conducted under the able guidance of Director, School Education, Mr. Ravi Shankar Sharma (KAS) & direct supervision of Deputy Director Planning, Mrs. Mamta Sharma (KAS).

Teachers shared positive feedback and showed punctual and active participation throughout the course. They also appreciated DSEJ & KEF for organizing this workshop.
