Ashok Kumar, Former MLA Ramban took extensive tour to Far Flung Halla Dhandrath, Ramban and strongly protested against the Government of J&K for huge shortage of master grade, lecturers and non teaching staff in High Secondary School, Halla (Ramban)

Former MLA from Ramban has expressed serious concern over the 60 per cent shortage of teaching staff and 90 percent of non teaching. The future of more than 700 students in HSS, Halla is in shambles. He claimed that the current government’s interest towards primary education is only on papers, the ground realities are extremely different and painful especially, in remote and far flung areas.

In a statement issued here, he said, “New eight room building have been constructed from last four years. However, the new rooms have not been handed over to school administration for teaching learning process. It is a matter of real concern as the future of many students who had already suffered due to pandemic and are now being marginalised by the ignorance of school education department.

Kumar said the role of opposition needs to be meaningful, strong, credible, committed and responsible to ensure that the government would perform transparent and accountable duties with maximum governance especially, in terms of school education and does not assume the arbitrariness in it’s action neglecting the larger interest of the students”.

Ashok said:  “Despite of many central government schemes and guidelines regarding the play field in higher secondary schools, no play field are available in HSS, Halla. The overall development of students is not possible due to non availability of play grounds. It become difficult both for 700 students and teachers to arrange morning prayers and extra curricular activities in the school.

Meanwhile, he further urged upon the Lieutenant Governor of J&K to immediately direct the concerned authorities of education department to provide lecturer and mater grade staff to Higher Secondary School, Halla Ramban and also establish new constructed school building for smooth conduct of teaching learning process.
