4JAMMU: Principal Secretary to Government( Education) Mr. B K Singh along with Ms. Veena Pandita, Chairperson JKBOSE, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu today visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar and Government Higher Secondary School Channi Himmat to get first hand account of day to day working of schools. They were accompanied by Joint Director SCERT Mr. Surinder Kumar, CEO Jammu, Mr. Suraj Singh Rathore, DIET Principal Jammu, Mr. Roshan Lal and other officials of the Department of School Education.
The guests inspected the libraries, science laboratories, computer laboratories, class rooms and interacted with the staff members and students to guage and assess the vast number of issues being faced by the students and teachers, especially due to the current Covid-19 situation.
Principal Secretary Mr. B K Singh assured the teachers and students that no stone will be left unturned while helping them and every single student was important for the Department of School Education and every effort will be made to help them get trough these difficult times. He asked the teaching community to give their hundred percent to bring the disrupted educational framework back on track and appreciated the role played by them during the COVID-19 pandemic times.
Ms. Veena Pandita, Chairperson JKBOSE said that BOSE is in a continuous process of reassessing and reinventing itself to meet the needs and expectations of the students and their parents. More and more technology is being introduced to make the system fair, transparent, faster and in tune with the times and requirementsof the studentsand other stake holders.
Later on, Director School Education Jammu along with Joint Director SCERT Mr. Surinder Kumar and Chief Education Officer Jammu, Mr. Suraj Singh Rathore visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School Gole Gujral. He inaugurated the newly installed CCTV system at the school and asked the staff members to work towards making the education learner friendly, for which the Directorate of School Education Jammu will provide every possible help.
The Director then visited Government Girls High School Gole Gujral and taking note of the condition of the school building asked for a Detailed Project Report to be made for construction of new building.
On the occasion, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma divulged that the Directorate of School Education Jammu is already in the process of repairing, upliftment of buildings and infrastructure along with construction of new buildings where ever needed and in the coming months students will get to see a vast change on the infrastructural side as well. 100 percent schools have been covered when it comes to providing with drinking water and washroom facilities he added.
The visiting team of guests took note of the issues being faced by the teaching community and students and assured timely resolution.
