DSEJ, Jnana Prabhodini Organise Capacity Building Workshop For Teachers

Jammu: 3 day long digital capacity building workshop for teachers organised by the Directorate of School Education Jammu in collaboration with Jnana Prabodhini Education Resource Centre concluded with the final session of the initiative being organised at the SRML Higher Secondary School Jammu.
The workshop which was inaugurated by the Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma saw a total of 50 teachers being trained as Master Trainers, 5 each from all the 10 districts of Jammu division. These Master Trainers will further guide the teaching community in the use of digital technology and disseminate the knowledge gained in the workshop between them.
Addressing the participants of the workshop, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu emphasized that all the teachers should focus on the new age technology and get mastery over the digital content creation which will help them in future considering the increased use of digital technology in the teaching learning process. The knowledge gained in such workshops is to be put to use in classrooms for the benefit of the students which is the main motive behind organising such events, he added.
Thanking Jnana Prabhodini team for the cooperation, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma assured that such collaborations will be a regular feature in future as well so that the teaching community can equip itself with modern day teaching learning skills and pass on the knowledge to the students enabling them to scale new heights in studies and prepare better for the competitive exams during their student life as well as prepare them for the life in the practical world outside the school also. He asked the teaching community to give in their best and put in efforts to mitigate the loss of studies incurred by the students due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant closure of schools for around 2 years. Helping the students to come over these unusual circumstances rests on the shoulders of the teaching community and the Directorate will take every possible measure to help, guide and support the teachers in this endeavour of theirs, he added.
He further advised everyone to keep following the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines issued by the government from time to time and not to let the guard down.

The main objective of this workshop was to train school teachers in the use of advanced digital technology for content creation and interact effectively with students. The participatimg 50 teachers learnt the use of gamification for understanding concepts and evaluation and actually designing games and making educational videos for effective delivery of content.
They were introduced to the concept of Augmented Reality (AR) and Visual Novel in the field of education. Amongst other things, the teachers also learnt about the use of Megh and Sarita apps for building environmental awareness amongst students.

The concluding ceremony was attended by the officials of the School Education Department along with the representatives of Jnana Prabhodini Education Resource Centre and the formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Pourush Shrikhandia from Coordination Cell, Directorate of School Education Jammu.
Amongst others, Mrs Pallavi Paradkar (Head Education Resource Center), Mr Vivek Jandiyal (Technical Team), Mrs. Suvarna Karhadkar and Mr Omkar Nilange from Jnana Prabodhini, Ms Anjali Gupta, Principal SRML Higher Secondary School, Mr. Yasser Rasool, Media and Community Outreach Cell, DSEJ were present at the function.
