National Sports day is celebrated in various schools of District Udhampur on 29th August under the overall supervision of Chief Education Officer Sh. Arvin Kumar Koul with full zeal and enthusiasm across eleven zones of district Udhampur form Primary to Higher Secondary Schools to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand , India’s most celebrating hockey player . On this day different schools celebrated his achievement of victories including of others athletes and their achievements. Schools organized different indoor and outdoor sports competition among students such as volleyball, carom board, chess , basket ball, cricket etc and also various activities like symposium, debates, easy, writing, quizzes etc along with prize distribution to different winning team. It is a day to raise awareness about physical activity, sports and overall health. Zonal Education Officers has supervised various activities related to National Sports day in their zones and appreciated the hard work of all the Physical and teaching staff who had made National Sports day grand success.
