Jammu: Director School Education Jammu, Mr. Ashok Sharma visited various government schools of zone Jammu in order to evaluate and receive first hand information about the works under progress in these institutions. He was accompanied by Ms. Mamta Sharma, Deputy Director Planning, DSEJ along with the officials of the Engineering Wing.
Mr. Ashok Sharma divulged that 21 Higher Secondary Schools falling within the Jammu city municipal limits are receiving a face-lift, repair, renovation, new constructions and will be upgraded with the addition of fully functional new age smart classrooms. A total of 286 Information and Communication Technogy(ICT) enabled Smart classrooms are being constructed in these 21 Higher Secondary Schools with the aim of providing digital education to the needy sections of the society and reducing the technological and logistic gap.
These works have been taken up under the Smart City Project.
The visiting team inspected and took stock of the work under progress. Mr. Sharma interacted with the staff members, workers and other stake holders and gave on-spot directions while making suggestions to improve the quality, availability, and accessibility of education for the students. He asked everyone to work hard, diligently and give their hundred percent so that the work can be completed in the stipulated time frame
“I am delighted to see the extent of development of the new structures at these Higher Secondary Schools,” Sharma said. “The students of Jammu deserve access to high-quality education facilities, and it is inspiring to see the progress we are making towards that goal.”
