DIET BASHOLI ORGANIZES SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMME FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (CWSNs)

A three-day workshop-cum-training program was organized for the teachers of district Kathua by District Institution of Education and Trainings, (DIET) Basholi on contextualized school readiness module for Children with Special Needs (CWSNs) at DIET Basohli. About 50 teachers from all 12 zones of district Kathua participated in the workshop.

Mr. Sudershan Shukla (Sr. Lect. DIET), was the coordinator for the event and Mr. Devi Saroop Badyal (Lect. DIET), acted as the associate coordinator of the event. The Key Resource persons Mr. Vishal Anand, Mr. Amol Sharma, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Mr. Viney Kumar and Mr. Mohinder Kumar delivered sessions on the contextualized school readiness module for CWSNs and made teachers aware about the necessity of inclusive education, identification of disabilities as well as role of all stakeholders (Teachers/Students/Parents and Community members) in ensuring inclusive society.

The training was conducted under the over-all supervision and guidance of Mr. Nand Kishore, Principal, DIET Basohli. The Officer in his address encouraged the teachers and urged everyone to pull up their socks and brace up for making all possible efforts for the achievement of shared vision of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) i.e “Education for All” meaning to welcome all students irrespective of their diverse backgrounds in schools with open mind and heart. He further emphasized the teachers to walk extra mile for ensuring equitable society by becoming the torchbearers of the same.
