31st District Level One day orientation/workshop for Teachers, Masters & Lecturers on National Children Science Congress-2023 organised by NCURDS Jammu in collaboration with DSE Jammu at DIET Rajouri

On the directions of Director School Education Jammu and State Coordinator National Council for Urban & Rural Development Society (NCURDS) Jammu, an awareness cum orientation/workshop for Teachers, Masters and Lecturers on National Children Science Congress (NCSC)-2023 was organised today on 16th October 2023 at new DIET Complex Kheora Rajouri. Around sixty four participants deputed from different Educational institutions of the District by Chief Education Officer Rajouri Mrs. Sultana Kouser participated in the workshop where they were sensitized about NCSC programme. Principal DIET Mrs. Neelam Suddha inaugurated the workshop and welcomed the participants. In her address, she laid stress on the participants to inculcate scientific temperament among the school students so that they can contribute in solving various day to day problems being faced by them using scientific skills, gained by them during their stay in schools. Earlier an introductory address delivered by Mr. Mohd Ayaz Raina (Lecturer Botany), District Co-ordinator NCSC Rajouri in which he explained the objectives of organizing such programme at District level, which is conducted under the guidance of National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. He said that the programme is organised by National Council for Urban & Rural Development Society Jammu in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Jammu. He said this year focal theme for the preparation of projects by the students will be “Understanding Ecosystem for human health and wellbeing”. Mr. Raina in his address said that NCSC is an annual event which is open to young scientists/children/students in the age of 10-14 (Junior group) and 14-17 years (Senior group). He said that this event of NCSC is not restricted to the school-going children only but is also open for the non-school children from the marginalized sections of the society who can be involved as team members.
Dr. Dushyant Pradeep District Academic Coordinator NCSC Rajouri detailed the participants through presentation about the focal theme and sub themes. He explained various focal areas and project ideas under each sub theme to be taken for project work which is to be completed by the students (max two) under the supervision of a mentor or guide teacher.
Mr. Mohd Rayaz Lecturer DIET Rajouri thanked the participants and hoped that maximum number of projects will be presented in District Level under NCSC programme which is scheduled in the December.
The programme ended with light refreshment to the participants.
