Today DIET Basohli in collaboration with J&K Board of School Education organised District Level Role Play & Folk Song/Dance Competition on NAEP and SDGs at Govt. Boys HSS KATHUA .
Cultural teams from different Zones of District Kathua took part in different categories. The purpose of organising this competition is to aware the students’ community about different issues viz. Protection of the Environment, Prevention of substance abuse, Role of joint family in child development, Healthy relationships during adolescence, plastic pollution, gender equality, good health and mental well-being, reduced inequality etc & how to redress these issues. Moreover, the main aim of this programme is to aware students of 17 sustainable development goals issued by the United Nation. In the competition.
Students from GHSS Budhi (Barnoti) secured first position in Folk dance whereas students of HS Parangoli (Sallan) secured first position in the Roleplay category. The second position was secured by the students of GHS Marheen (Hiranagar) in Folk dance and the students of GHS Sherpur secured second position in the role-play category. The third position was clinched by the students of GMS Basohli in Folk dance and the students of GHS Sandhar in the role play. A panel of judges was appointed to make a fair judgement .
The welcome note was given by Sh.Sanjeev Vaid ,Principal Boys HSS Kathua and in his impressive speech advised the students to take part in co curricular activities as art remains beautiful form of expression since ages.
Then HOD DIET Basohli Smt Champa Devi inaugurated the programme on behalf of Sh.Nand Kishore Principal DIET Basohli and in her motivational address appreciated the efforts of the students ,mentors and HOIs for District level participation. The students who secured the top three positions in different categories were awarded with certificates and cash prizes.The top teams (winner team in both events) will represent the District in UT-level competition.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks from Smt Champa Devi co-ordinator of this program She thanked Principal and staff of GGHSS Kathua for providing venue , District Cultural team including DICC ,ZICCs for co ordinating with zones , technical Expert ,moderator and others assiciated from team of DIET Basohli for making the programme successful.
Smt Shashi Rani ,HOD ,DIET Basohli ,Kumari Shobha ,Physical Instructor,DIET Basohli and Monika Khosla tr , DICC Kathua were also present.
Smt Sunita Kumari Master (ZICC) moderated the program whereas Sh.Deepak Sharma tr (DNO STEER) and Smt Rishi Tangri tr(ZICC) gave the technical assistance.
During the program the refreshments were also provided to all present.
