Workshop on Faculty Development Program on Machine Learning Concludes at Bhaderwah Campus.

Bhaderwah, December 23 : The Weeklong workshop Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the topic “Machine Learning, Theory, and Application with a Special Focus on Electroencephalography, Document, and Sign Gestures Analysis.” Organized by the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with HRDC centre, University of Jammu, iHUB Divya Sampark, IIT Roorkee & LTU Sweden concludes here today.

The FDP took place from December 19th to December 23rd, 2023, and brought together educators, researchers, and professionals in the field of machine learning to explore the latest theories and applications, with a particular emphasis on Electroencephalography, document analysis, and sign gestures analysis.

Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, in his message congratulated Bhaderwah Campus, particularly Department of Computer Science & IT, Bhaderwah campus for organization successfull weeklong workshop.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Lt Col Sameer 2IC 4 RR, who, in his address, commended Bhaderwah Campus and the Department of Computer Science and IT for organizing a workshop on such a crucial and relevant topic. Dr. Cheering Tandup, the guest of honor, also shared insights during the event.

Professor Rahul Gupta, Rector of Bhaderwah Campus in his message expressed his satisfaction with the successful conduct of the weeklong Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Machine Learning with a Special Focus on Electroencephalography. highlighted Bhaderwah Campus as an emerging hub of knowledge.

The Rector congratulated the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology for organizing a seminar of such importance, emphasizing its role in advancing knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving field of machine learning. He commended the collaborative efforts that brought together experts, researchers, and participants for a meaningful exchange of ideas and insights.

Prof. S K pandita Director HRDC University of Jammu expressed his satisfaction on the conduct of the weeklong seminar.

Dr. Jatinder Manhas, Head of Computer Science and IT at Bhaderwah Campus and the convenor of the workshop, elaborated on the aim and objectives of the FDP, highlighting its importance in the current academic and technological landscape. “The success of the FDP reflects the commitment of Bhaderwah Campus and its collaborators in promoting cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the field of machine learning. The event has set a benchmark for future academic endeavors and collaborations in the region,” he added

Dr Manhas further said that “Bhaderwah Campus is emerging as a hub of knowledge, and this successful seminar is a testament to our commitment to providing cutting-edge education and fostering intellectual growth. The collaboration with esteemed institutions and the engagement of renowned experts reflect the dedication of our faculty and the thirst for knowledge among our students,” he added

Co-Convenor Dr. Abdid Server provided a brief account of the conference, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that made the event possible.

Organizing secretaries Dr. Neeraj Kumar and Dr. Ajay Lakhotra expressed their views, underscoring the significance of such academic initiatives in fostering knowledge exchange and skill development.

The distinguished resource person for the program, Dr. Rajkumar Saini from Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, delivered a detailed lecture during the workshop. Dr. Saini’s expertise in machine learning theories and applications, with a specific focus on Electroencephalography, document analysis, and sign gestures analysis, is expected to provide participants with a valuable learning experience.

Proceedings of the Velidictory Function were conducted by Ms. Ayushi Kotwal, Research Scholar in computer science.
