Jammu: Dirctorate of School Education Jammu’s ‘Enrollment Drive’ is in full swing these days across all the ten districts of Jammu division to enroll more and more students in government schools so as to achieve the goal of universal enrollment and retention of children in government schools.
As part of the ongoing drive, Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar today inaugurated Mega Enrolment Drive for Government schools at Govt. Girls High School , Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The impressive function that started with the release of doves signifying liberating nature of education and the endless possibilities of achieving greater heights in life using the wings of education , included welcoming new entrants, song and dance performances, skits, etc. amongst a bouquet of other activities.
Ten students were enrolled on the spot and were gifted with educational kits , reading & writing material , lunch boxes, etc. along with some other daily use articles.
A colourful rally was also taken out by the students and staff members to create awareness among the local populace about the importance of education and the dire need to enroll all the out of school children back jnto the mainstream education system.
While speaking on the occasion, Director School Education Jammu Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma called upon all the CEOs , HOIs and teachers to aware the common masses about various schemes, facilities and benefits provided by the government in government schools such as highly qualified staff, Smart classrooms, CAL Labs, Atal Tinkering Labs, free textbooks and other learning material, mid-day meal, counselling cells, happiness zones, well developed sports infrastructure with coaching facilities by experts, Kindergartens, playgrounds, well-equipped libraries, laboratories, art and craft rooms, Vocational courses, Scholarships, around development and grooming of personality through various cultural activities, etc.
He said that the Directorate is continuously looking for new and better ways to ensure quality education for each and everyone and assured cooperation and autonomy to HOIs in face lifting and infrastructural development of schools by involving various organizations to motivate students to join Govt. schools. He impressed upon all the stakeholders to work together in tandem so that the marginal and poor out of school children can be brought back to the school.
The programme was attended by students, parents and teachers in large number.
