STUDY TRIP TO ATAL SETU, RANJEET SAGAR DAM ORGANISED FOR GHSS MAGLOOR STUDENTS

A study trip to Atal Setu ,Ranjeet Sagar Dam and Purthu(Mini Goa) for the students of 10 th and 12th class of GHSS Magloor Zone Sallan was organised by worthy Principal Sh Narinder Singh ji under the guidance of Chief Education Officer Kathua.

On this educational trip, total 60 students participated along with deputed staff. The main aim of visiting this place was to promote learning experiences among students.At the beginning of the journey the breakfast was served to all participants at Ranjit Sagar Dam.The Ranjit Sagar Dam has an installed capacity of 600 megawatts .The dam has four generating units, each with a capacity of 150 MW.
After taking breakfast the students moved towards Atal Setu and came to know that this bridge is a 592-metre cable-stayed bridge on the Ravi River near Basholi Town, District Kathua, commissioned on 24 December 2015 by former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikkar. The bridge spans between Basholi and Dunera and aims to improve road connections between Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. This bridge is the first of its kind in North India and fourth of its kind in nation and then stationary files were also distributed among the students to share their experience of this trip and then moved towards Purthu where the students visited Purthu Beach which is an artificial beach on the right bank of River Ravi (Ranjit Sagar Dam).Students enjoyed alot and then delicious lunch was served there with dessert .
The students showed keen interest in learning and exploring this new place and its culture.
Overall it was a unique and tangible learning experience for strengthening the young ones to make learning more fun and exciting.
