Bhaderwah, September 5 : The Department of Geography, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, organized a simple yet impressive celebration to mark Teachers’ Day. The event, which honored the dedication and contribution of teachers, was attended by Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Head of the Institute of Mountain Environment (IME), Dr. Chhering Tandup, Head of the Department of Geography, Dr. Shayan Javeed from IME, and other esteemed faculty members.
The celebration featured various activities organized by the students, including speeches, games, and a stand-up comedy performance. Students emphasized the crucial role teachers play in guiding them along the right path and fostering their overall development.
Rector Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. J.P. Singh Joorel, in his message expressed his admiration for the event, stating, “Teachers’ Day is a reminder of the invaluable contribution that teachers make in shaping young minds and building a better future. In his address, Dr. Neeraj Sharma urged the students to follow the path of truth and develop the skill of helping others in various life situations. He highlighted that the ultimate purpose of education is not just academic success but also building character and compassion.
Dr. Chhering Tandup stressed the importance of hard work and dedication in a student’s life. He encouraged students to remain ethically and morally correct, which he noted is key to achieving true success in life.
Dr. Shayan Javeed spoke on the significance of teachers, emphasizing that a teacher’s role extends beyond imparting knowledge—they shape students’ minds and help them become better human beings.
