DIET Kishtwar hosts Role play, Folk Dance competition in collaboration with JKBOSE.

Kishtwar:District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kishtwar today organized National Role play and folk dance competition here at DIET premises .

 

The chief guest of the event was Prahlad Bhagat,Principal DIET Kishtwar who presided over the function.

 

As many as 19 teams comprised of 148 students from different zones of the district participated.

In folk dance competition, HS Balgran bagged the first position followed by HSS Nagseni as second position and third position was clinched by HS Dudoo, Padder.

 

While as in singing competition HSS Mugalmaidan bagged the first position, followed by HSS Boys Kishtwar as second position and third was bagged by HS Chisoti Padder.

 

In Role Play competition, Higher Secondary School Chatroo got first position whereas High School Dikri and HSS Girls bagged second and third position respectively.

Sr. Lecturer DIET, Dr Nadeem Ul Hassan Gundana, Humaira Ayoub Sr. Lecturer, Monika Gupta, Teacher DIET Kishtwar and prominent modern singer Suhaib Kandoo acted as judges on the occasion.

The winning teams of both the events will participate in inter district competition at UT level and the best teams selected thereof will participate in National level competition.

Pertinent to mention here that the Role play and Folf Song/Dance was organised by DIET Kishtwar in collaboration JKBOSE (the official sponsor).

The theme of the National Role was Growing up Healthy, Nutritious Food and Well-Being, Personal Safety (Physical, Mental, Emotional and Sexual), Safe Use of Internet, Gadgets and Media Literacy, Substance Abuse and Its Causes and Prevention etc.

 

For Folk dance the different themes were “Equal Opportunity for Boys and Girls” , ” Role of Joint Family in Child’s Development”, ” Protection of Environment” (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), “Prevention of Substance Abuse and Healthy Relationships during Adolescence”.

 

The specific objective to conduct role play is regarding with Interactive participation of students by providing them opportunities for experiential learning for life skills development and also Validating the strategies of the role play for development of ability to apply life skills in peer group situations.

The purpose of organising this competition was to educate the student community about different issues viz. Protection of the Environment, Prevention of substance abuse, Role of joint family in child development, Healthy relationships during adolescence, plastic pollution, gender equality, good health and mental well-being, reduced inequality etc & how to redress these issues.

 

Moreover, the main aim of this programme is to educate students of different sustainable development goals.
