Electoral Literacy Club Program Empowers Youth/Students at GHSS Sarthal Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Kishtwar: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Mr. Masood Hussain Qazi, District Nodal Officer Electoral Literacy Club (Dy CEO Kishtwar), in collaboration with school administration, organized an Electoral Literacy Club Program at Government Higher Secondary School Sarthal.

The program aimed to instill the importance of voting among youth and students.The event witnessed the active participation of approximately 150 citizens, including teachers, staff, BLOs, besides the local youth, and students, many of whom are first-time voters from the region.

Among others who contributed to the success of the session included senior lecturer GHSS Sarthal Ramesh Thakur and Lecturer Suman Sharma (Institution Nodal Officer).

This initiative served as a crucial platform to educate and empower the youth about their fundamental right and duty to vote in the democratic process. With the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 drawing near, the program focused on nurturing a sense of responsibility and awareness among the younger generation regarding the significance of their vote in shaping the nation’s future.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions and discussions led by the Nodal Officer ELC and expert teachers in the field of democracy and electoral processes. These sessions provided valuable insights into the electoral system, voting procedures, and the pivotal role played by voters in shaping the destiny of the country.

Mr.Masood Qazi expressed, “The youth of today are the torchbearers of tomorrow’s democracy. It’s imperative to equip them with the knowledge and understanding of their electoral rights and responsibilities. Today’s events play a vital role in fostering a culture of electoral participation, ensuring that every eligible citizen exercises their right to vote, and empowering our youth to become active participants in the democratic process.”
