GHSS Chhan Rorian Hosts Compost Bin Making Competition, Nurturing Environmental Consciousness

Kathua: In an endeavor to foster environmental awareness and practical waste management skills among its students, Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Chhan Rorian hosted a Compost Bin Making Competition today. The competition saw enthusiastic students showcasing their creativity and ingenuity in constructing efficient compost bins from locally sourced materials.

Under the guidance of Principal Mr. Subash Chander, the students worked tirelessly to design and assemble various types of compost bins. The bins were evaluated by a panel of experienced mentors, including agricultural experts and environmentalists.

“I’ve learned so much about the benefits of composting and how I can help reduce waste in our community,” said Ajay, a participating student. “This competition has inspired me to make composting a regular part of my home,” remarked Priya, another student.

“Composting is an essential practice in sustainable agriculture and can significantly reduce our environmental footprint,” said agricultural mentor for the school.

The competition concluded with the announcement of winners, followed by the distribution of prizes and certificates. The event not only served as a showcase of students’ skills but also raised awareness about the significance of compost bin making and its role in reducing waste and promoting environmental health.
