Kathua: GHSS Chhan Rorian observed World Water Day today with a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of water conservation. Under the able guidance of Principal Subash Chander, students engaged in a variety of interactive and educational programs to drive home the message of water scarcity and the urgent need to save this precious resource.
Sanjana, Class 10 student said,”Water is essential for life, but it’s heartbreaking to know how many people around the world don’t have access to clean water. Today’s activities have made me realize how lucky I am and I’m committed to doing my part to conserve water.”
Ravi, another student shared, “As future citizens, we have a responsibility to protect our planet and ensure that there is water for generations to come. I’m proud to take part in programs like World Water Day and spread awareness about the importance of saving water.”
In his address to the students and staff, Principal Mr. Subash Chander emphasized the critical role water plays in human health, economic development, and environmental sustainability. He urged everyone to adopt water-saving habits in their daily lives and become ambassadors for water conservation in their communities. “Every drop of water counts,” he said. “Together, let’s make a difference and ensure that everyone has access to this life-giving resource.”

In a Painting Competition Students showcased their creativity by drawing vibrant paintings depicting different methods to save water, such as rainwater harvesting and using water-efficient appliances.
Students penned catchy slogans promoting water conservation, which were displayed prominently throughout the school.
Students spread awareness about water scarcity and conservation practices through informative posters and presentations. In a workshop on Water-Saving, Experts shared practical tips and tricks on how to save water in both domestic and industrial settings.
The World Water Day celebration at Ghss Chhan Rorian was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the students. The school administration and participants alike expressed their commitment to promoting water conservation as a way of life, not just an annual observance.
