DCC Ramban strongly protested against the BJP led LG Administration for increasing terrorism in Jammu Region.
The protest led by District President Ramban Perviaz Wani and Former MLA Ramban, General Secretary JKPCC and a Senior Congress Leader Ashok Kumar. In a statement issued here Ashok said “deeply troubled by the resurgence of violence and unrest in the Jammu region, which has claimed the lives of over 51 army jawans. He said Lieutenant Governor must resign if he cannot handle the situation.
DCC, president Ramban Perviaz Wani opposed the Centre’s decision to amend rules that give all powers to the Lieutenant Governor, which undermines the principles of democracy and self-governance.
Expressing grave concern over the increased terror attacks leading to martyrdom of several army & security force personnel, Senior Congress leader Ashok Kumar hits out at the centre government and UT administration for total failure to check the rising terror activities in Jammu region.
Various Senior and Youth Leaders spoke in the protest and questioned how there is such a sudden spurt in terror attacks & activities in most parts of Jammu region after peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha polls and why government has failed to check it after ten years in power now, when centre is directly dealing with the situation.
Accompanied by Tushar Singh Working President DCC Ramban, Block Presidents Master Janak Singh, Mohan Singh Drora, Tilak Raj Singh, Mohd Rasheed, Issac Ahmed Khandey and Laukman Khan. OBC District chairman John Mohamad, DDC Ramban General Secretary Pardeep Singh Raju, Balbir Singh and Minority Chairman Pritam Singh. Gopal Raine Ex Ward member, Youth Congress office bearers namely Ankur Dogra Youth Congress Leader, Alishan haider Youth Assembly President, Tabreez Furkan., ch Irshad, Yasir Ahmed were also present.
Meanwhile, Ankur Dogra, Youth leader said that entire nation is shocked over the sacrifices of our young officers & soldiers in the series of terror attacks in Jammu & Kashmir, especially in Jammu region. On the other, LG Sahib is acting like a Viceroy of East India company.
Master Janak Singh and Laukman Khan said Congress party salutes our brave martyrs and express our deep sympathies to the families of martyrs. It is very painful for all in the nation when it’s learnt from media that the martyrs have left behind their aged & ailing parents, unmarried sisters or newly married young partners & minor children.
Ashok lauds army and security forces & local police who are bravely fighting terrorism at the cost their lives but it for the government to answer for the revival of militancy and take urgent steps to bring the situation under control and to ensure incident free, ongoing Amarnath Yatra & comming assembly elections.
Issac Ahmed Khandey also hit out strongly the centre over the snatching of rights of elected government and vesting in LG when people were agitated over the unilateral & arbitrary snatching away of statehood & other rights of people, depriving them of their status, dignity, and then depriving them of the democratic right to have elected government for around six years . These have proved counter productive in many ways and there is anger amongst people.
Pardeep Raju said that there is an sad atmosphere of fear amongst people due to rise in terrorism in Jammu region.
He highlighted the strong resentment of people over the snatching of powers of the elected government and vesting in the Lt Governor before elections as they realised the mood of people against the BJP in elections.
