Jammu: Members of the J & K Private Schools Association, Jammu met with
the Director School Education Ashok Kumar Sharma, (KAS) and apprised him about their
genuine problems and demands.
While discussing President of the association Ajay Gupta briefed the director that
current government of Jammu & Kashmir has reversed the earlier order of uniform academic
calendar issued by L-G administration in 2022 from March session to the traditional
November- December session for the Kashmir Province and winter zone of the Jammu
Province.
A worrisome situation has now arisen for all those students who want to migrate from the
private schools functioning in winter zone to the schools functioning in the summer zone
of Jammu division as all the CEOs/ZEOs of winter zone of Jammu division are reluctant to
countersign / authenticate / confirm the result of all such private schools whose
recognition had lapsed due to the non adaptation of PSGA 2021 by the different
departments for the issuance of different NOCs or whose files for the want of recognition
are in the pipeline, they added.
While highlighting the issues, members demanded that to prevent the exploitation of the
students as well as the private schools functioning in the winter zone, generate a
provision for smooth transfer of the students from class 1st to 9th (Home classes) from
one school to another so that all the CEOs/ZEOs of the winter zone could countersign /
authenticate / confirm hassle free result of all private schools of winter zone.
Director School Education Jammu Ashok Kumar Sharma gave a patient hearing to the members
and said that although the career of the students is at stake but we will try to come up
with certain remedies so that no one suffers.
Prominent members who accompanied the delegation included Sanjeev Luthra, Siddherswar Sadotra, Chain Singh and Gaurav Charak.
