Doda, March 22 – A three-day capacity-building initiative focused on Whole School Safety concluded at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Doda on March 22, 2025, equipping educators from PM Shri Schools with critical safety and emergency response skills.
The program, held from March 19-22 at the DIET’s ICT Lab, targeted lecturers, masters, and teachers from 25 PM Shri Schools across the district. Fifty-six participants engaged in comprehensive training sessions designed to enhance their preparedness for various emergencies.
Key components of the curriculum included emergency preparedness, fire safety, evacuation procedures, and responses to natural disasters. Experts from the Fire and Emergency Services Unit of Doda provided practical training on fire prevention, evacuation strategies, and first-response techniques. Additionally, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team from Doda conducted interactive sessions, imparting vital skills for managing natural calamities and security threats.
Participants engaged in hands-on exercises and discussions, focusing on fostering a culture of safety and preparedness within their respective schools. The program emphasized the importance of effective response protocols, ensuring staff are well-equipped to handle emergencies.
The initiative was coordinated by Zakir Hussain Natnoo, Senior Lecturer at DIET Doda, under the supervision of Principal Dharmender Kumar. Efficient logistical management was provided by Farooq Ahmed, Head Assistant at DIET Doda.
The collaboration between the Fire and Emergency Services Unit and the SDRF was lauded by participants, who highlighted the practical value of the training. The program underscores the PM Shri Scheme’s commitment to creating secure educational environments and empowering educators with essential safety knowledge.
