SRINAGAR, MAY 08: Additional Commissioner Kashmir (ACK), Dr. Abdul Salaam Mir, Tuesday held a meeting to review the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in Kashmir division.
Deputy Commissioners of all the Valley districts participated in the meeting via video conferencing. Deputy Director Urban Local Bodies and other concerned officers were also present at the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the status of works carried under the SBM including construction of Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) and Geo-tagging in various districts of the division.
It was informed that while Srinagar and Leh have already been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF), 95 out of the total 168 blocks have been declared ODF in the remaining districts, adding that 65% geo-tagging stands completed across the Kashmir division
The Additional Commissioner urged all Deputy Commissioners to expedite the remaining works carried under the mission including construction of IHHLs and Geo-tagging in their respective districts.
