Canal Road police apprehended a notorious criminal and recovered one country made pistol and one live round from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Canal Road Police Post laid a naka near Bakshi Nagar and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered one country made pistol along with live cartridge from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Tilak Raj alias Pappa, son of Bhagwan Dass, a resident of Gurah Brahmana, Tehsil Akhnoor.
A case under FIR Number 72/18 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Canal Road Police Post SI Sohan Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Neeraj Bhagat, SDPO West Pranav Mahajan, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
