POONCH, JULY 18: District Development Commissioner, Poonch Rahul Yadav today reviewed the arrangements for Independence Day celebration here at a meeting of district officers.
The meeting decided that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium where the VIP shall unfurl the National Flag and take salute of the March Past contingents drawn from belt forces and school students.
Various committees were constituted by the Deputy Commissioner for monitoring necessary arrangements for the celebrations. He exhorted upon the concerned agencies to ensure that the arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth conduct of celebrations.
It was decided that ShahnaiVadan will be played by Information Department apart from arrangements of Public address System during full day rehearsal and I-Day celebration.
Other arrangements pertaining to security, sanitation, sitting arrangements, power supply, toilet facilities and traffic management were also reviewed in the meeting.
The DDC directed PHE and PDD to ensure availability of drinking water and uninterrupted power supply on the National Day as well as on all rehearsal days. The Health department was asked to make available sufficient number of doctors along with a critical care ambulance and medicines at the venue. The SSP was asked to make foolproof security arrangements in and around the venue.
Directions were also passed to Municipal committee to intensify sanitation drive in the city and the main venue in coordination with PWD.
The meeting was attended by SSP Rajiv Pandey, ADC Basharat Hussain, ExEns of engineering departments besides other district and sectoral officers.
