DDC PULWAMA REVIEWS RAMADAN ARRANGEMENTS

PULWAMA, May 11: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, today reviewed the arrangements put in place by the district administration for the ensuing holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting held threadbare discussions regarding water, power, ration and security facilities and sought immediate measures for ensuring these besides improving sanitation and ensuring strict check on quality and rates of essentials.

The DDC directed the concerned departments to make adequate arrangements for providing better amenities to the people and intensify market checking to keep a check on overcharging and of daily use items. PDD and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supplies at Sehri and Iftar to avoid inconvenience to the people.

He also directed the concerned department to make proper arrangement of street lights in the town and make sure that unfunctional lights should be made functional. He asked Pulwama Municipal Corporation to intensify sanitation operations and ensure cleanliness in and around the mosques and shrines.

The DDC directed the officers to work in synergy to carry out market checking and monitor the quality of edibles like mutton and poultry. He also stressed on keeping regulation of rates of commodities. He also asked the concerned officers of FCS&CA to ensure an adequate supply of ration during Ramzan.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, CEO MC, EEs PWD, R&B, PHE, AD FCS &CA besides other district and sectoral officers from various departments.
