DC Reasi reviews achievements under key sectors

REASI, AUGUST 9: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Prasanna Ramaswamy G today reviewed performance under key sectors here at a meeting of the concerned officials.

Starting with the R&B, the DC took stock of the status of road connectivity in the district, sought explicit details of roads repaired and constructed by the department. He was briefed about the targets achieved under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund, RIDF, and Central Road Fund, CRF, of NABARD. The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned authorities to pay special attention to Katra roads considering the upcoming Navratra Festival.

The PHE officials briefed the DC that more than 2 lakh souls, of a total population of 3.15 lakh in Reasi, are being supplied drinking water.

Encouraging further action on part of the department, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of various water filtration methods being employed by the department. He strongly advocated re-commissioning of the defunct filtration plants in the district. The DC was also briefed about the proposed Dhansar Project in Katra.

The PDD officials briefed the DC that all villages and urban households of the district have been electrified and only a few habitations and rural households are left out. The Deputy Commissioner also asked about the status of Grid Station Reasi.

Officials from the Health Department briefed the DC about various achievements under the National Health Mission. The DC was also briefed about the status of Community Health Centre at Katra and Mahore.

Talking with officials of the Education Department, the Deputy Commissioner enquired about the targets achieved under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. He also reviewed the construction of OBC Girls’ Hostel at GDC Reasi, multipurpose indoor stadium hall at Reasi and Government Degree Colleges at Mahore and Dharmari.
