LAHDC Polls: Observer takes stock of election arrangements in Zanaskar

KARGIL, AUGUST 19: The Election Observer for 4th General Elections of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Gulzar Ahmad Dar, today visited Sub Division Zanaskar and took stock of the arrangements made by the district administration for conducting the LAHDC Kargil elections 2018.

During his visit, the Observer convened a meeting with the Returning and Assistant Returning Officers of Tai-Suru, Cha, Parkachik, Karsha and Padum Constituencies and got first hand appraisal of the arrangements made for the polls.

Threadbare discussion was also held on various issues including arrangements made for media-persons who will be covering the polls.

Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, Dar directed the concerned to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.

Polling will take place on August 27 while as counting will be done on August 31. The process to elect 26 Councillors of the district will complete on September 5.
