Bollywood actor John Abraham is in the Valley to shoot for his upcoming espionage thriller titled ‘RAW’. He has urged the film industry and tourists to visit Kashmir.
On his appeal, the tourism department has assured single-window clearance for crews intending to shoot in the Valley. John said there was a need to promote Kashmir in a positive manner. His words have come as a ray of hope for the tourism sector, which is on a revival path.
“It is the responsibility of the film industry to show Kashmir in a positive light. I am also a producer…. I will also make sure that film industry presents Kashmir the way it needs to be presented to the world…. We must promote the rich culture and hospitality of this place,” Abraham told reporters at the Gulmarg resort on Saturday afternoon.
Dispelling the notion that Kashmir was not a safe place for tourists, he said, “We must promote tourism…. instead of concentrating on politics, for once we must concentrate on its beauty…. people think Kashmir is not a safe place to visit but here I am in Gulmarg right now and enjoying its beauty,” he added.
