POONCH, MAY 12: The district administration Poonch today finalized the land acquisition rates for 20 projects here at a meeting of collectors chaired by Deputy Commissioner /District collector Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
Threadbare discussions were held on fixing the rates of land in various areas of the district being acquired for different developmental projects as per Land Acquisition Act.
A total of 20 cases of land acquisition including 10 pertaining to Sub-Division Mendhar, 3 of AC defence and 7 cases of Mandi and Haveli were cleared. The land is being acquired for 12 PMGSY roads, 2 PWD roads, 3 GREF roads, 1 each project of University campus, tourism and police department.
The meeting approved rates for the process of land acquisition for upcoming PMGSY, PWD and GREF road projects which will provide enhanced road network in the district.
Decisions were taken for acquiring of land for Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch defence road at village Bainch at Rs 1.60 lakh per kanal, at Rs 1.50 lakh per kanal at village Qasba and at Rs 2.80 Lakh at village chandak.
The meeting was attended by ADC Dr. Basharat Hussain, Collector Land Acquisition Defense Rajouri-Poonch Range Ramkesh Sharma, ACR, Mohammad Bashir Lone, Collector Surankote Abdul Rashid Kohli, Collector Mendhar Tanveer Ahmed besides other concerned officers.
