The ‘Chhari Mubarak’, holy silver Mace of Lord Shiva, reached Chandanwari, the first halting station on traditional route to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
The Silver Mace, after having halts at different stations on the way, will finally enter the holy cave on August 26, when the annual 60-day-long pilgrimage will conclude after day-long puja.
‘Bam Bam Bolay’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’ reverberated the air when the Chhari, carried by Mahanat Deependra Giri, left Pahalgam after two night halts. The Mace has reached Pahalgam on August 20 from Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar.
The Chhari will leave Chandanwari, which is connected by road also, early tomorrow morning to reach Sheshnag, where it will leave for Panjtarni on August 23.
After having night halt at Panjtarni on August 24 and 25, it will finally proceed towards holy cave on August 26. After day-long puja inside the cave, the Mace will start return journey shortly after sunset. With this, the annual yatra will conclude. The age old tradition, associated with the pilgrimage, will be preformed at Pahalgam before reaching Dashnami Akhara.
