Rakshabandhan a festival which marks the communion of brothers and sisters. It is celebrated all over by tying a thread of love and respect on the wrist of brothers. We at Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu tried to recreate the same aura in the school precincts. We always believe in associating our festivals with a message that is for the welfare of the society. Following the same trend we celebrated Rakshabandhan in diverse ways.
The entire school was abuzz with the celebrations which began with special assembly in which the choir performed a symphony which left everybody in awe and the audience was captivated by the performance. Trailing this was the speech on the reason behind celebrating this day was delivered by Nandni of class 6th. Even the monsoon could not dampen the spirit of our Sanskritians who afterwards Fabricated Bewitching Rakhis and Spruced up the Kites. Ensuing this: Mass Party, Thali Decoration & Card Making were some of the splendid activities cobducted in the school. The entire ambience of the school was filled with exultation which was visible on the ecstatic faces of our children.
Festivals always call for hedonism and savor, so we also provide our children with multitudinal activities which would satisfy their appetite for pleasure. Keeping this in mind we have organized a kite flying competition in which our Sanskritians participated with gusto. The result of the competition declared Class-X A as winner.
To keep tradition & take on the social responsibility with the aim of caring & sharing our student visited Balgram where Rakhies made by the students were tied to the inmates of SOS – Balgram. Sweets & gifts were distributed to the students. This added glamour to the celebrations. She said that joy of giving & sharing with Balgram children inspired all the students & teachers to pave the way for helpful & empathetic attitude amongst younger generation.
The celebrations ended with a message conveyed by Principal cum Vice-Chairperson of our school Ms Rohini Aima who with her benign presence motivated the entire school. She stated that no doubts we must enjoy the festivals but at the same time we need to understand the hidden meaning that these festivals portray. According to her the most prominent thing to be happy about in this world is that “You’re Alive”. So let us pledge to be alive for the sake of others and work for the cause of humanity. She also asserted that we must pay tribute to our soldiers who are fighting for us at the borders without giving due importance to these festivals and she advised the children if possible tie the thread of rakhi which they have made on the soldier’s wrist or on somebody’s else who is destitute and needs to be uplifted.
