The Punjab government has issued show cause notices to 32 officers, including over a dozen from the police department, who have been indicted by the Ranjit Singh Commission. The officials met the DGP Suresh Arora, after Department of Home Affairs had sought their explanation
Former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini too was issued a show cause notice.
The 14 senior officers, who have been issued show cause notices include the then SSP Moga, Charanjit Singh Sharma, the then DIG Ferozepur range, Amar Singh Chahal, Addl DGP, Law and Order, Rohit Chaudhary, Charanjit Singh Sharma.
Show cause notices have also been issued to former Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal, former PS to CM S K Sandhu and former special PS to CM Gaggandip Singh Brar. The state government has instructed Chief Secretary, Karan Avtar Singh asked to initiate disciplinary action against them
The officers also include 10 junior rank officers
