SRINAGAR, AUGUST 28: Ahead of the 3rd anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, the Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR), Sheetal Nanda on Tuesday held a meeting to discuss the mass participation of general public, Self Help Groups (SHG) and school children under a country wide sanitation campaign “Swachhta He Seva.”
The campaign would be from 15th September to 2nd October, 2018 to commemorate the 150th birth year of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Secretary to Government stressed on maximum participation in the campaign to realise the general public commitment for cleanliness in the State.
“All SHG, volunteers must be involved in a focused manner in this campaign for sustained cleanliness in their respective areas”.
Nanda said that the participation of school children must be ensured during this campaign. “Painting, drawing Competitions will be organized at district and State level with the theme and message to sensitise them about the sanitation,” Secretary said.
The student’s work on sanitation can be displayed in the 2nd October function to be held in the state, the Secretary opined.
The Secretary asked the officers to intensify the Swachhta activities for total cleanliness in the state.
Director Rural Sanitation, J&K, Additional Director, JKSRLM and Chief General Manager, NABARD, J&K were present in the meeting.
