JAMMU: Gandhi Nagar Police on Tuesday arrested a cop and recovered heroin from his possession. As per the details, a party from Police Station Gandhi Nagar laid Naka near Valmiki Chowk Gandhi Nagar for checking/ frisking of vehicles and intercepted a pedestrian coming towards Naka who on seeing police tried to escape in suspicious circumstances.
He was chased and during questioning he disclosed his name as Nisar Ahmed, son of Wali Mohd, resident of Chagoora Pulwama posted as Sgct. No. 874/AP 7th Bn Channi Jammu. On checking 20 grams of heroin was recovered from possession. The cop was arrested and case vide FIR No. 196/2018 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Gandhi Nagar. The arrest and recovery has been made by Insp.
