RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 19: To make the people aware about the labour laws and various schemes of Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB), Labour Department Ramban organized awareness camp at Sawalakote, here today.
During the camp, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Ramban, Rakesh Arora while interacting, briefed the participants about various labour laws enacted for the upliftment of the labour class and how the labourers can avail benefits under different schemes.
He stressed upon the workers to register with Buildings and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCWWB) for timely redressal of their issues and availing monetary benefits.
He said that the Labour Department and JKBOCWWB are working in tandem for the development and welfare of the labour class.
ALC highlighted various schemes being executed by the Department.
He further said that the labour class is the backbone for development and government is prioritizing their welfare. The Department also provides assistance of Rs 1 lakh for chronic diseases to the registered construction workers, he informed.
ALC said that for the education of wards of workers an assistance of Rs 2500 to Rs 10000 is being provided for lower education, Rs 15000 for post-graduation, Rs 30000 for diploma courses and Rs 50000 for professional courses.
