Srinagar, Sep 20: Two more Panchayat Ghars were targeted in the Kashmir valley, where miscreants set on fire four Ghars since the Governor administration announced to hold Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat polls in the state.

The National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Communist Party of India (M) have announced poll boycott while Congress have decided to contest the election after earlier describing the atmosphere situation not conducive for polls.

Official sources said unidentified persons on Wednesday night set on fire a Panchayat Ghar in village Kanjiullar in Shopian district of south Kashmir. However, the fire was brought under control, they said adding the building suffered some damage.

Miscreants attempted to torch a Panchayat Ghar at village Kultreh Chadura area of Budgam in the central Kashmir district last night. The fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot and doused the flames.

Four buildings of Panchayats were also targeted in south Kashmir earlier.
