Srinagar: Two cops took to social media on Friday and announced their resignations from Police service in south Kashmir’s Shopian district soon after suspected militants abduct and killed three policemen.
Constable Irshad Ahmad Baba, a resident of Dangam area of Shopian, released a video clip of 18 seconds and announced his resignation.
“I have nothing to do with Police job from now,” Irsahd was heard saying in the video.
Special Police Officer (SPO) Umar Bashir, a resident of Kapren followed Irshad by releasing a letter alongwith his photograph.
Three cops were abducted and killed by suspected militants in Shopian earlier in the day.
Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen had last week purportedly released a video asking all policemen to leave their job or face consequences.
