Amritsar, Sept 26, 2018: The body of Balwinder Singh (53), a farmer from a border village who had on Tuesday afternoon accidentally fallen into river Ravi, has been recovered from the Pakistani side.
The incident was shared by the BSF with Pakistan Rangers who recovered the body from the river in their territory.
A senior officer said that Pakistani border authorities will hand over the body after completing formalities.
Balwinder Singh, hailing from village Ghonewal near India-Pakistan border, was swept away strong water currents as the river was in full spate owing to heavy rains. The incident had taken place about 4 kilometres upstream from where the river meanders into Pakistan.
