Chhatroo: Three day Athletic Meet 2018- 19 organised by 11 Rashtriya Rifles ( Dogra) under the aegis of HQ 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, concluded on 29th September, here at Helipad Ground chatroo.
The event was orgainsedd by 11 RR with the twin aim of talent hunt and to inculcate sportsman spirit amongst the students .More than 600 students from different regions of Tehsil Chatroo participated in the track and field events organised by the army with the help of local civil administration.
Student participated in events like 100 meters and 200 meters race, shot put , high jump, long jump, discus throw, javelin etc. and the podium finishers received a cash prize of Rs 1000, 500 and 300 along with medals while all participants we’re gifted T-shirts.
The ongoing initiative of the army to promote positive development amongst the students through sports and provide a competitive platform to help them showcase their talent, is part of the Sadbhavna Project being pursued with vigor by the organisation.
CO 11 RR Colonel Nachiket, was the Chief guest at the event and told Paigaam news that Indian Army will do everything possible to keep peace in the area and engage the local youth and public in the nation building process.
