The 11th students of Government Higher Secondary School Hariganwan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday held a protest demanding deferment of their examination.

Reports said a number of class 11th students of the school assembled on Srinagar-Leh highway at Ganiwan market and blocked the vehicular movement.

“We have not completed our syllabus yet still the government is adamant to hold our exams as per their own convenience without considering the students’ point of view. We won’t be able to perform well in the exams,” a protesting student said.

They demanded that their examination should be deferred to mid-November so that they could complete their syllabus.
Later, the principal of the school and a police party reached at the spot and pacified the protesting students. He assured them that their grievances will be taken up with higher authorities.
