POONCH, OCTOBER 01: District Development Commissioner Rahul Yadav today flagged Off Voter awareness Rally under the slogan “Voter Jaago” to spread the message among people about the importance of voting.
Students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Boys Higher Secondary school Poonch, High school Purani participated in the rally.
The awareness event was organized under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) activities by the District Administration. School children were told about the importance of voting, besides increasing the voting percentage.
The rally started from Government Girls HSS Poonch and passed through Qila market and culminated at Sports Stadium chowk. The th e students carried placards and raised slogans for making people aware about the importance and need of voting.
The DDC asked the students to urge their parents and people around them to cast their vote in the interest of the city. He stressed on the fact that a collective decision through voting will help to elect good leaders.
The rally was anchored by Sabar Hussain Sabar Bitta. The CEO and Principal of Government Girls HSS accentuated the importance of voting to the students.
After the rally, the DDC visited Government Girls HSS and inspected school buildings and construction work of class rooms, school library, smart rooms, cleanliness etc. The DDC directed the concerned to accelerate the pace of work on the project and complete it in stipulated time frame. Rahul Yadav also instructed for maintaining cleanliness around school.
