Kishtwar: Shopkeepers fined for littering

KISHTWAR OCTOBER 04: Civic Officials today charged fine from shopkeepers for littering despite repeated instructions to not to throw waste material / garbage openly on roads.

The civic officials compounded fine to the tune of Rs 3200 from the erring traders during a market inspection by the Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana.

As per district administration, the Municipal Authorities through drum beatings and loudspeakers had made repeated appeals to the shopkeepers to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness in the town.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner along with team of Officers took a round the vicinity of Main Bazar and interacted with shopkeepers. He asked them to keep their surroundings clean, do not throw any kind of waste material on roads and cooperate with administration in maintaining the charm and beauty of roads.
