DDC reviews functioning of colleges in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 13: The District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla today reviewed the functioning of Degree College Kangan and Government Polytechnic College Hatbura Ganderbal here.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Principal Degree College Kangan, Principal Polytechnic College Hatbura, Ganderbal, EXEN R&B, ARTO Ganderbal, District Floriculture Officer, and other concerned officers.

During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on the functioning of both the colleges including infrastructure, courses provided, student intake strength and other facilities in the colleges.

The meeting was informed that Degree College Kangan has 830 intake capacity of students in Arts stream and Polytechnic College Hatbura has 120 intake capacity in Electrical and Civil Engineering courses.

Principal Polytechnic College Hatbura raised several issues including internet facility, public transport facility and internal road macadamization.

During the meeting, the DDC reviewed the details of the under-construction infrastructure of both the colleges, including the status of boundary fencing, landscaping, cafeteria and 100 bedded hostel of Polytechnic College Hatbura.

After a brief discussion, DDC directed R&B department to adhere to the timelines as prescribed in the meeting and expedite the pending work of blocks so that they are handed over to the college authorities well in time.
