DC Samba launches 3rd phase of block level competition under Khelo-India

SAMBA, OCTOBER 15: After successfully organizing 1st and 2nd phases of block level completion at Bari Brahmana-Purmandal and Vijaypur-Ramgarh under Khelo-India scheme, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sushma Chauhan today launches 3rd phase of competition in Samba, Nud and Sumb blocks at sport stadium Samba.

In a colourful, glittering and well attended opening ceremony, DC unfurled the Khelo-India flag. Around 2500 athletes of Samba, Nud and Sumb blocks are expected to participate in the competition which will continue up to 27th of October. Games to be played include football, volley ball, hockey, Kabaddi, wrestling, Kho-Kho, badminton and swimming in under 17yr under20yr and above20yrs age categories.

Deputy Commissioner Samba on the occasion congratulated the participants for registering in large numbers in khelo-india scheme and availing this opportunity to showcase their potential. She exhorted upon participants to inculcate discipline in sports which is indispensible to achievement of any goal. Later she personally interacted with participants and also witnessed the inaugural games in Kabaddi, badminton and football.

Dr. Kaushal Kumar SSP Samba, Pankaj Magotra ADDC Samba, Jyoti Rani Salathia PO ICDS and other Officers from Army, Police, CRPF and Youth Services were also present on the occasion.
