Ramban: DDC discusses issues confronting national projects

RAMBAN, Oct 17- District Development Commissioner Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today discussed issues confronting NH-44, four laning project, Railways and Sawalakote HEP here at a meeting of Collectors and representatives of construction agencies.

The meeting was attended by, ADC, Dr Basharat Hussain, ASP, Sanjay Parihar, ACR, Vevaik Puri, SDM, Ramsoo, Viqar Giri, SDM, Banihal, Zameer Rishu, SDM, Gool, Pankaj Bagotra and representatives of the companies, HCC, GAMMON, Navayuga, Ramky, AFCON, Northern Railway and NHAI besides officer from Revenue department.

Considering importance of prestigious Railways and four lane work, the DDC assured the companies engaged on job of removing all bottlenecks on National Highway and other construction sites. He discussed key issues and passed on directions to concerned officers for timely redress of the same.

The DDC constituted a committee under the chairmanship of ADC and comprising SDM, Banihal, XEN REW, Ramban, AEE, PMGSY, Banihal to verify the alleged unfair and wrongful assessment cases of railway project in Bankoot, Banihal. The committee was asked to submit the report within seven days.

The DDC also fixed the timeline to resolve the issues besides stressed upon the importance of the projects and their timely completion. He directed the officers and engineers to work in cohesion to complete the project and sort out the pending issues of affected population due to the projects.

Meanwhile, the DC reviewed the progress of shifting of HT Towers, proper protection of towers and other utilities including their reinstallation and developing suitable environment for construction work. He directed the Revenue officers to ensure completion of all land acquisition cases and DFOs were directed to resolve forest related issues for avoiding unnecessary delay in national projects. Some issues were also resolved on the spot.

He also directed the executing agencies to ensure smooth passage of the traffic by maintaining potholes and drainages besides ensuring proper maintenance of NH1A at all crucial places besides ensuring safety of commuters and laborers.

DDC directed the construction companies to fulfill their social responsibilities in their respective working areas so that a rapport between public and companies is established and working atmosphere is made congenial for ensuring smooth progress of construction works.
